photo-free
So, that generous gift from my mother is still sitting in my purse, waiting to be spent on a new camera . . . or something.
Last Friday I spent a good hour at the local electronics warehouse store playing with cameras. I walked away with the following conclusions:
- I can’t afford a dSLR.
- Even if I had a dSLR, I would probably want a point-and-shoot anyway.
- There are some point-and-shoots that have theĀ features that I want (aperture priority, shutter priority, etc.)
- The big, old camera that my mom let me borrow has all of those features and is 7.1 megapixels (not too shabby). Maybe I just need to play with it more to figure it out.
- That big, old camera runs on AA batteries. They died. I never buy batteries. I don’t want a camera that runs on AA’s.
- That big, old camera seems to take terrible photos with the flash, does poorly in low light without the flash, and has an incredibly slow button press to exposure speed.
- Maybe I DO need to buy a new camera.
Hmmm, I might be shopping on Black Friday after all. I’ll be at c-net if you need me.
